The parents are *not* qualified to make such a decision.

Generally, they will not have the medical training necessary to make an informed decision. Assuming they're one of the rare cases that *do* have the necessary medical training, they are still disqualified by virtue of being subjective to the patient, and not able to make an objective decision.

And no, I wouldn't be angry. I would be angry under 2 conditions:

1) The Dr administering drugs without my consent, and
2) the Dr being negligent in their administration of the drugs (for example, giving them a 150 mg dose when it should have been 15mg, or giving them a drug different from what they had said.
