You're purely picking one of two drugs that will or will not kill you.

There's no middle ground.

If both parents pick the same drug, and both babies live, wonderful. If they both die, the parents will always attribute the childs death to themselves.

As each drug has exactly the same chance of success, but with no way of knowing which does what, there's no need reason the parents should have to make that decision.

Their only involvement should be "Do we give the kid drugs?" not "which drugs do we give them?"
