I would like to point out that while a .22 by SaylorA 2008-04-28 10:40:58
has the potential to travel 3.2 miles, under normal conditions a .22 bullet is unlikely to reach 200 yards. The muzzle velocity of the standard .22 LR is between 1200 - 1300 ft/sec. With the gun held level, it takes less than 0.5 seconds for the bullet to fall to the ground. Even if we take the upper end and say 1300 ft/sec and 0.5 second drop time, it still only travels 216.6 yards.
