For me, it's interesting to see those who take a stand and make a choice, accepting responsibility for that choice (where, in this case, responsibility is justifying that decision to other board members), and those who try to come up with loopholes and other ways to not to have to answer the question, or turn it to their favour.

At least in your case, you simply state "I'm not playing", which is a far more valid answer than trying to evade the question.
