would you want to explain to them, that you knew for sure one of them would live and one of them would die. I don't see that option as looking out for them any more than the first. Whichever you choose, there is a huge risk. Once you know which worked, you would regret your decision not to give both kids that medication. The only way you wouldn't regret the decision in the end is if you gave both kids the same, and it was the right one.
