At one point in our society, we'd invite the local Bobby in for a cuppa and a chat. And you were taught as a kid if in trouble to go to the police officer for help. Sadly, before my day, though my mom tried to bring me up with some of that mindset.
Yeah, i gather there were periods when Mods and Rockers would get together for a fight, but did they shoot each other because the one dumped their sister or looked at em funny? Nope it was an expression of testosterone and impetuousness.
Guns take that expression of testosterone and make the untrained testosterone-fueled body as deadly as one trained in unarmed combat. (untrained as in they arent lethal with their bare hands) More so, because a kid with a gun can shoot several people in a couple of seconds, whereas someone unarmed needs about that time frame to kill a single body.
