"not pure 24 bit color" you won't be able to notice the difference and it won't matter unless your doing print work.
"no good black level" see above, you won't be able to tell unless the screen is absolutely black. Even so, with LCD Backlit displays coming out, that vanishes quickly.
"viewing angle" seriously, when are you going to want to view it from anything other than straight(ish) on? Even so, LCDs have quite good viewing angles. The one at home is about the same as the CRT that replaced it. (with the exception of viewing below the screen)
"native resolution" ever tried one? the 22" widescreen I have at home does a resonably good job of it, it doesn't look "inherently ugly" at all. Also, even if your panel doesn't scale well (stretching 4:3 images for example) there's nvidia's "smart scaling"
"Responsiveness" Nothing's perfect, try a TFT, with anything 5ms and under you won't be able to tell the difference without high-end gear, like a high-speed camera
