Random thought/question of the day by merlin 2008-04-28 08:23:07
I was reading a post elsewhere, and the contention was made that one of the reasons for the decline in murder rates/statistics in large US metropolitan areas is the increased skill of emergency health care providers. According to this post, a number of would-be fatalities are saved by EMT & ER staff.

As anecdotal proof of this, they point out that aggravated assault rates are up while murder rates are down.

No concrete numbers were provided, and I don't have time ATM to go look up FBI stats, but this seems plausible on its face.

What say you?
