I'm now the happy owner of a 1987 Nissan Pulsar by amp_man 2008-04-07 23:07:17
For the price of a whole $300. I'm not sure why these cars are so worthless (according to edmunds, a decent '90, which is the same style/motor, is worth about $800), it's an extremely fun drive, gets around 29mpg, and is dependable as Nissans typically are (very). Tomorrow I'm taking it over to a friend's garage, where over the next few weekends we'll run new brake lines (there's a small blowout in the back), probably new vacuum lines, spark plugs and wires, the basic tune-up stuff, and do a surprisingly small amount of body work, replace the hood, which has folded, and a fender that had some body work done to it badly. Once that's done, I get to decide if I want to leave it mint green, or take it over to another buddy's shop to get painted. The interior is in amazing shape, and it's so much more comfortable then my civic. I'm already in love.

PS: yes, I like working on cars, especially ones that don't have to be done that afternoon to drive to work the next day
