It is essential that she does her physio every day without fail.
One hip replacement op == understandable
Followed by one retraction of dislocated new hip == possibly understandable
Two retraction ops == slow learner
(To say nothing of the fact that dislocating it is fscking painful.)
No, not me, my verry stubborn grandmother at 92.
Hopefully her doc and the physio will explain it all to her in all the detail you need to understand why it is essential to do all the required things (like sitting with your hip at right angles - like using a frame until strong enough because a stick makes unequal balance issues - like not using soft chairs for a while - etc,etc). Having a strong unough upper body is important too - Nan wouldnt do her simple arm exercises before the op ("Ive got muscles"!! --- erm, not really, Nan, bits of string maybe :P)
I suspect the pain will get to her - it is not an unpainful op. :P Rehab may look wonderful if it includes pain management :P
