We have whisks, nonstick pans, food processors, garlic presses juicers, meat grinders, pasta makers and many other gadgets in the home kitchen that we take for granted - outside of professional kitchens, that is. Nor would we have Food Network, Alton Brown or restaurants offering bruiere and camembert to clients who knew what they were eating. Antony Bourdain would still be stuck behind the counter in New York. . .
If you have any gadget in your kitchen fancier than a can opener or any food more exotic than a stick of celery or can of soup, get it out and salute it. And take a moment to remember the Goddess of Gourmet and all the foodie goodness that she has brought us.
