Julia Child hated the kitchen until she met her soon to be husband Paul. He was an "early Foodie" and part of a food appreciation culture that had been nearly absent in Western Civilization outside of monasteries, wineries and chefs. Then, after her husband took her out to eat and she had the. . . Something. . . Du' Soule. That meal put her over the edge. Within six months she was in Cordon Bleu and, after realizing that there is actual science and logic involved, she advanced and surpassed her fellow students - dropping out after six months. Within a few years, she published her first book and was on her way to her legendary status. . . And all because of a touch of romance. ;-)
