So I had an epiphany while driving home tonight by merlin 2008-04-07 17:10:23
If you need to hold on to your rosary while driving, YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR DRIVING STYLE!!!!!!

I was heading east-bound on a six-lane road (3 lanes in each direction for you non-USians). I was in the center lane, meaning I had one lane on either side of me.

I noticed I was rapidly overtaking an SUV in the right-hand lane, and then realized it was because he had his left-turn blinker on and was wanting to change to the middle lane. It was actually quite a nice, conservative piece of driving on his part.

After I passed him, he started to change lanes behind me. I then noticed a small 2-door coupe that was immediately behind him. This car started changing lanes at the same time. The 2nd car, even though the SUV had their turn signal on, apparently became VERY FRUSTRATED that the car in front of them was slowing down and changing lanes. Instead of staying in the right-most lane, which was about to be clear, they AGGRESSIVELY DOVE a full two lanes over to the left, whipped around me, and then CHANGED BACK TO THE MIDDLE LANE, right in front of me.

As all of this extra traffic-weaving was going on, I noticed the driver of the small coupe had a quite intense grip on a set of rosary beads hanging from their rear-view mirror.

Hence my epiphany.

If your driving style causes you to start praying for salvation, it might just be too late :)
