Not that it really matters... I agree with subbywan that you go ask people to dance, and if one person says "no" don't let it stop you - keep asking people. And it may not be you if the person says no, it could be the particular song. And talk to people. The LGBT crowd is usually very welcoming (at least IME). And don't be afraid of dancing by yourself or in a big gang of dancing people for a song or 2. If you aren't shy at RHPC, then wear that persona for a little while at the dance.
