was basically attempted genocide. When you're talking between four and six million, I don't think the specific number matters so much. It's only a statistic. What matters is the horror of the event. I think that's one of the reasons many people don't know the specific number. Another reason is probably the simple fact that the numbers are estimates. When people are murdered on that scale, how do you account for them after the fact?
