Esteis' re-statement of your TLP, where the question has been turned into one of whether members of a truly civilized society choose not to be violent, I will have to agree. In a truly civilized society, members of that society choose not to be violent. And this will have to include violence to children.
But that makes the question in your TLP moot - because it was one about choosing to use weapons. I automatically included the acquisition and training to be included - but a child molester needs no more weapon than his/her own body, and no special training. In which case Esteis' re-statement becomes one that defines what 'truly civilized society' means, rather than one about members of such a society. |
