Having the *capacity* and ability for violence doesn't mean you're a violent person, doesn't magically taint you, pollute you, or corrupt you, nor does it mean you run around looking for excuses to exercise those options.
Some of the most (potentially) dangerous people I know are easily the most laid back, tolerant, peaceful people I've ever met.
They've confronted those issues, and have nothing to prove.
They are also more likely to look for peaceful ways out of any given conflict, since they know they can fall back on other options if the need arises.
So, yes, I *choose* to be peaceful, polite, circumspect, and respectful wherever I can be. But I have that *choice* because I have *other* options available to me. Those that don't have no choice.
