Regarding cell phones in public areas. by hadji2008-04-07 08:15:15
Would it bother you if the other person was there, by toysbfun2008-04-07 08:58:41

way.

What bothers me about people talking on cell phones in public is when they refuse to respect the people around them. Not everyone does that. But in this case, this person did. He was loud, he was talking about his own dirty laundry, so to speak, and he gave no acknowledgment of or respect for the fact that he was in public and other people were around him.

If the other person was there, that particular effect would have been lessened if not eliminated.

I've heard conversations with both people present that have bothered me, though, but in different ways. I've also heard casual cell phone conversations that were understandable, e.g. someone gets a call from a family member or close friend that they haven't heard from and who's been difficult to get a hold of or just got into town or something like that.
