I assume that most people would share my desire to keep guns out of the hands of people who would use them with criminal intent. But herein lies the problem . . . people with criminal intent are inclined to, by definition, break the law. So long as handguns exist, criminals are going to have access to them. That's an inescapable truth. Insofar as my current understanding of the situation goes, I would fully support a reasonable degree of gun control (such as a criminal background check before a sale, maybe a check for an already clinically diagnosed mental or emotional disorder, though that could be a discussion in and of itself . . .). But an all-out ban primarily affects law-abiding peeps.
