I finally joined the 20th century. by run.dll 2008-03-29 21:16:09
I got a TV today. I had one for a while about 20 years ago, but left it when I moved. I also got a cable box to hook it up to.

Before I hook it up, however, I will have to get rid of a lot of books. I took one big box (mainly of outdated technical manuals and such) and left it in a well lit academic place near a trash bin out of the rain.

Tomorrow I will do it again, and the day after, etc. It's surprising, however, how hard it can be to part with what I admit are pretty useless books. Even if I get rid of a big box a day for a week I will still have shelves, boxes and piles of the bloody things all over the place.

I will, however, have place for my new TV and video box, so I can see what everyone has been talking about for the past couple of decades. Who did kill JR, anyway? In fact, who was JR?

Oh, you say it's now the 21st century? Funny that someone in physics and engineering is such a Luddite at home.
