I learned some things while out with my camera ton by radiowave911 2008-03-20 19:19:51
ight (SSLR)

First, if I am going to go out with my camera at night when it is cold, I need to get different gloves. The ones I
have, as thin as they are, are too bulky to operate the camera's controls.

Second, I need to bring a flashlight to see the camera's controls.

Third, I need to RTFM a bit more to learn how to better control the exposure settings on the camera. Looking at
the pictures, some are very overexposed.

My subject was a gazebo in someone's yard that was lit by a red spotlight. It looks pretty neat to the naked
eye, and I am trying to capture that on film somewhat. I also thought the iron fence around the yard might enable
an interesting perspective shot. I believe I was correct on that account.

In general, I like the composition of the shots linked below, however I do not like the exposure. The owner did
say I could come by any time to shoot, so I plan to do some reading and go back again, preferably when it is not
so cold :)

Constructive criticism (on any of my pictures) is always welcome.

And now, the Clicky
