I have seen MANY no-english speaking people become offended that I didn't speak their language. Truth be told, I speak some spanish, but I pretty much refuse to use it when trying to serve someone who refuses to even try to speak english. Especially when they are not tourists, but people who actually live here. Example, I know I would never move to Italy without learning to speak Italian.
