This is America. When Ordering, "Speak English" by Illiad2008-03-20 10:28:36
And what about mute Americans? ;-) by aix tom 2008-03-20 11:17:18
While my English is quite good, it is my only second language.

But even when I go somewhere where I don't speak the language I usually learn at least "Hello" "Goodbye" "Please" "Thank You" even when I only visit a country for one day. Of course I usually forget it two days later again, too.

And so far

"Hello" *Smile* *Point* *Point* *Hold up number of fingers* *Rise Eyebrows* *Nod* "Thank You"

In any given language has gotten me quite far. ;-)
