Help recovering from a buggered network config by AndyA 2008-03-20 10:33:38
I have a network appliance where the only way of setting it's IP configuration is via a page built into it's internal web server.

The system is currently setup as:
IP: 10.1.148.155
subnet: 255.255.254.0
gateway: 10.1.140.1

Setting up a machine with a fixed IP address of 10.1.148.nnn and connecting directly will allow me to ping the box but I can't connect with a web browser to be able to fix the network settings.

I have physical access so I can connect whatever is needed to the port.

So how do I get this thing back to the land of the sane?

Oh and feel free to LART anyone who creates a device where the only way of configuring the network is over the network and then doesn't make the reset button on the side reset the network settings to factory defaults.
