that's likely an older drive, note I stated 48x	by Freakazoid	2008-03-19 11:49:59
and mentioned running it at extremely lower speeds. (like 2-4x on a 48x burner) what I forgot to mention: there can be some benefits to running it at a slightly lower speed. (like if the system can't quite keep shoveling data to the drive fast enough to run it at full 100% speed) It's just running say, a 20x DVD burner at 4x is likely doing more harm than good.
