Help needed with new toy (DVD burner) by oot 2008-03-19 11:09:47
I've got a shiny new toy. What do I feed it?

It's described as being "20x, DVD+/-R" which I guess means there are lots of DVDs it is compatible with... so how do I know which ones to pick?

Things that are important to me:
1. Cheap
2. Still readable four years later
3. Other peoples' computers will be able to read them

Any suggestions what type of blank DVDs I should buy for it?

Also, I've noticed that blank DVDs come with a speed number on them too... does having a 20x drive mean I have to get 20x blank DVDs, or does it mean "20x or anything lower" (if something slower is cheaper)?

    +R and -R won't matter to the reader by hadji2008-03-19 11:19:58
