I don't know what they mean exactly and I'm doing a computing degree.

However, given the silly phrasing of other requirements "synthesize information from instant messages into a word-processing document" I guess they're probably something simple too.

I think the scheme is a bit too focused. Knowing how to use e-mail, internet search and copy and paste all seem to be fair basic requirements. Knowing how to use powerpoint and make graphs in a spreadsheet seem to be a bit biased towards certain jobs though. Perhaps this could be replaced by a requirement for familiarity with the basic W.I.M.P. interface.
