that method as "the next step" in stopping some of the annoying spam. My suggestion, ask them why they are doing it that way or what anti-spam filter they are using and you might get a good reason. I am not saying that it is the best method but, if you are being hammered by spammers, you sometimes go to exteremes. At the place I used to work we also ran an ISP and we ended up blocking all of the IP's from china....suddenly we lost about 80% of our spam as well as most of our scriptkiddie hacker attempts. It was a bit brutal but..it worked...
