Dries up the tissues in your sinuses (air cavities in the forehead connected to your nose, throat, and ears) so they quit swelling and draining mucus (snot) down the back of the throat.
Some of them tend to cause people to get drowsy, so they recommend against driving or operating heavy equipment while you're taking them.
Also used to treat allergic reactions in general, like skin rashes, hayfever, and autoimmune reactions up to a certain point.
Is what happened to me; apparently got bit by something that triggered a reaction - skin itch all over the body, goosebumps, ache all over, even started in with shortness-of-breath and difficulty breathing; drove to ER, they laid me out on a table and started an intravenous tap (needle into a vein in the arm to send medicine straight into the bloodstream), and hit me with something like 10 times the dose of Benadryl that I would normally take to treat a hayfever episode. The instant the Benadryl hit my brain, I went out cold. |
