It was the fact that you were aware of your surroundings that saved your life?

I can't argue with that.

If you want to claim that it was the presence of a concealed weapon that saved your life - well, better back that one up with a good story. It's not intuitively obvious. If it were, then I can claim that the possibility of me having an illegal, concealed gun is saving my life every day :-)
