I was under the impression that the Hague Conventions prohibited certain types of ammunition because of their lethality.

You also seem unaware of the military doctrine that a dead soldier removes one combatant from the field, but a wounded soldier removes 3 to 5.

If armed forces were interested in killing they wouldn't comply with restrictions on ammunition because it is considered inhumane.
