s? I can find nothing on CBC remotely resembling what you are talking about, and what I can find directly contradicts most of it.

If you pack it in checked luggage, it is NOT SEARCHED.

There is no evidence that people have had their laptops duplicated, confiscated, etc - it is all hearsay, blog entries, no real news articles by anything resembling a valid source.

This is all starting to look like a mud-flinging job against America.

What I DID find in my search on CBC is that the Canadian border guards have done the same things - searching laptops, etc. Not duplicating or keeping them (other than, once again, hearsay in blogs), but searching them just like teh evil usa thugs do.
