Subordinate messes up.
As corrective training, supervisor gives assignment.
Subordinate has trouble on assignment, cites broad topic and unfamiliarity with the program required to complete the assignment.
Do you:
A. Give subordinate starting points for research, and show him the basic skills in a program to complete the task.
or
B. Tell the subordinate that "It's corrective training, you don't get help for corrective training, you'll be on the carpet tomorrow."
Guess which one my supervisor picked.
What's the bloody point of a task that is supposed to teach a lesson if the task is undoable and no guidance is given to show the lesson?
I'm so frustrated with this profession, 2 more years unless by grace of god these idiots finally manage to fire me. |
