I don't see it in this article, but I read elsewhere that they did find that if they had everyone bring a favorite book or created some other way to bring the focus onto shared interests more quickly, then the influence of looks was diminished and of shared interests and values was increased.

Hey, cool! So that means I not only have an excuse to carry a book with me (which I generally do anyway), I'm actually more likely to find Mr. Right if I do? ;-)

Probably be better off carrying Terry Pratchett than Jeff Lindsey though....
