Obama won't take that lying down. If the voters get the feeling the Party leaders will screw them like that, it'll be a race to see who can leave the fastest. Not all of them, obviously, but enough that it would seriously hurt, if not cripple, the Party for a number of years. Those who are loyal to the Clinton's will abandon her if it's a choice between her and the Party.
