Remember, for a product to displace another product, it needs to be compatible with its competitor. There are two ways to do this:
- A product like WINE, Cedaga, or ReactOS, to run Windows apps without Windows
- Replace apps for Windows with cross-platform OSS. OpenOffice.org for Microsoft Office, Darwin Calendar Server for Exchange, etc.
Once OSS is sufficiently Windows compatible, expect the migration to pick up speed. |
