This weekend in the hotel will be fun.
Television is: CBC North or Off, and today is "Hockey Day". This means 16 hours of uninterupted hockey coverage from across Canada.

Since I am an un-believer [both God and Hockey - a redundancy only in Canada], this is not good.

There is no internet connection, I am sending this because a person was kind enough to lend a modem to me. She is the hotel manager. It goes home with her.

It is -59c windchill, so a lot of walking is... inadvisable and painful. Dangerous, even.

I am the only guest as of tonight. There is a phone from which I can call Helen... a payphone in the lobby. Privacy is problematical.
I like that word - problematical. It is a nice way of saying [rude words] pain-in-the-ass.

I guess I will be doing paperwork, studying for my professional emergency driver licencing and playing games.

I did at least sleep in today. Will be going out to do some inspecting in the afternoon.

Life is lonely on the road.

A good thing is that I have downloaded Skype and it should work for voice communications. Now I just have to get another modem [the communities are all on a wireless modem system] since there will be no point in taking the home modem when Helen has it at home.

Well, so long... so very very long....

Sounds rather grim. Funny, though - by DrDeisel2008-02-09 11:09:22
