There are no dual format burners... Yet by intrinsic 2008-01-20 22:10:14
I didn't say there were but I will predict there WILL be (I assume you meant dual format burners. As I can buy single-format BD burner today though, ~$AU600 (Pioneer, retail) but the market will drive prices down in the future).

Given that LG are producing a dual-format (HD/BD reader, everything else writer) drive you can be sure the prices of the optical assemblies are going to go down in the near future as demand goes up.

DVD-RAM was re-incarnated as DVD-RAM 2.0 which retained the cartridge but made the disc removable, thus putting it in the same form factor as all the other DVD formats (so it fit the drive) and the majority of DVD burners I've seen recently (the past 3+ years) support DVD+/-R(W) AND DVD-RAM.

Mini-disc is still in fairly wide use, particularly throughout Asia and it was never meant to be a music distribution format so comparing this to BD/HD-DVD on your terms (studio support) is comparing apples to oranges.
