For a friend of mine's birthday, several people taped my giant (about 5 ft tall) inflatable penguin (named Spock) to my friend's first story window ledge (that is, the floor above ground floor).
My friend wakes up to Spock's menacing silhouette, and no doubt has quite a laugh, then goes to the adjacent block to visit people. In the meantime, the bursar spots the penguin, gets rather upset and has the porters take it down and move it into my friend's locked room. My friend returns to his room, unlocks the door and gets the fright of his life seeing Spock staring back at him :-D
