Gah! Canoscan 4400F- anyone have the install disk? by notdeadyet 2008-01-17 21:11:41
I can't find the installation disk. The ScanSoft OmniPage SE 4.0 that was included with the CD is trying to do some sort of update, and I can't make it stop. It keeps asking for the CD: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the "ScanSoft OmniPage SE 4.0 disk and click OK."

Canceling the window just causes it to give me an error. I OK out of that and the install starts over again. Stopping the process in Task Manager doesn't help, either, because when I can get it to stop, it just shows up again on boot.

I don't want to uninstall it - I use it often.

A quick search confirms my suspicions. I can't get a replacement disk. Does anyone have a copy I can beg, borrow or buy so I can get this update to do its thing and leave me alone?

Ahh, OCR makes things a little more difficult by intrinsic2008-01-17 21:25:30
Unfortunately, SimpleOCR is less accurate by notdeadyet2008-01-17 21:32:54
          OmniPage must've improved then by intrinsic2008-01-17 21:39:53
