In the case of the water taste, I would have asked her if she was done cursing or if she wanted me to call the police and have them write her a ticket for public profanity or disturbing the peace. Most places have an ordinance for that. :)
With the lady and the tree, I would have asked her if seeing her dog was worth her life and if she said Yes, then I would have evacuated the area and told her that her audience was gone and when she felt like coming down she could, then gotten food and a lawn chair delivered and waited her out.
I have no patiennce with people like that at all anymore.
In the little old lady and her phones case, they don't know where else to go so they go *somewhere* to get *someone* to do *something* about it...doesn't matter who does something just that they will. Her, I feel a little simpathy for and would have even told her the # for the telco, and dialed it, and told them what she wanted if I had the time. If she came back again though...yeah, not so much help...
