I was told by multiple people (feel free to offer your opinion if you disagree), was that most of the rest of his novels were closer in style to Job & Cat.

So given that I was told 'the rest of his novels are similar to the ones you disliked', what should I have done? I've spent my time reading other authors.

I also quit reading Xanth novels shortly after the 3rd(?) book, given the response to "I liked it, except for a 3-page stretch of non-stop puns".
What's the point of discussing unread books if not to prune the reading list?
