Many were Christians, but not all. And they'd just come from a world where a "Christian" had ruled by religious right. That is what they were trying to avoid -- A religious Govt like the one they'd just escaped.

The issue here (the point I made) isn't that we need a secular Govt. Or that Huckabee's claim is silly. It's that the article/writer states that the Founding Fathers derive their power from The People, but ignore that the Founding Fathers also believe The People are derived from the Creator, be that God or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
