You are right about us exercising good judgment. And many do not (witness the popularity of Brittany's debacle).

However, if the press demand the VERY broad freedoms they do, they have a responsibility to tend to what people NEED vs what people WANT.

There will always be a place for rag columns like National Enquirer and such. I have no problem with them gossiping. My issues come up with places like CNN and Fox, who tout themselves as hard news organizations, pander to what people want vs what they need.

It merely creates a cycle of dumbing down the population.
