First, making references to a popular mythology doesn't necessarily mean belief in that mythology. I've been known to say things such as "someone up there hates me", without believing it literally. (See also: "metaphor")

Second, if the Founders *were* Christian, it makes the case even stronger for secular government. If they were Christians and *still* set up the government to be run on secular principles...
