Any other USians having connectivity issues? by threadjack2008-01-15 12:11:59
There was some sort of routing explosion a bit ago by hobbs2008-01-15 12:30:32

Heh. So I just called ComCast to ask by threadjack 2008-01-15 13:02:29
what they knew about outtages.

Me: "I'm having some intermittent connection issues. I can connect to some sites, but not to others. Do you know of any outtages?"
Operator: "What operations are you using?"
Me: "Web browsing and some games."
O: "No, I mean what operations, like 'Windows' or 'Mac'?"
Me: (Operations? o.O Greeeaaaaaaat. This makes me confident.) "Windows XP."
O: "Ok, go to tools."
Me: (Tools? Does she mean Control Panel?) "Just tell me what you ultimately want me to do, and I'll get there."
O: "Delete your cookies and your temporary internet files."
Me: *Cries* "That's not going to help."
O: "Well, what IS going to help, sir?"
Me: (Tries to explain the basics of routing, as if to a child, and why some sites would connect while others would not.)
O: "Yeah, we are having some outtages in certain areas due to snow storms."
Me: (THAT'S WHAT I ASKED YOU TO BEGIN WITH!!!!)

*sigh*
