Apple is really running out of ideas, aren't they? | by Control | 2008-01-15 11:32:45 |
| And how many people have been clamouring for thin? |

People have been rumouring, expecting a "sub"-notebook for years now. There's a want there and Apple's filling it. Apple's forte, too, is designing something that, perhaps, has been done before and making it better.
I carry my laptop(s) around in a backpack, to mitigate weight and stress on a single shoulder. This means that whether I carry a 5lbs or 8lbs notebook it should make much difference. Still, my 15" MacBook Pro is 10x nicer to carry around then my 14" Dell D610, and smaller in every way except width. It's lighter, has longer battery life, has a way better screen, nicer keyboard and better trackpad. I'm hoping to get upgraded to the 620 this year, but even still I think my MacBook Pro will be nicer.
Thin and light are advantages for travelers, people who need to be mobile with their notebook or even usually take two with them (one work one home - next time I travel for work I will). Besides I don't think usability has been sacrificed. |
