Here is a slippery slope argument to go the other by Classic_Jon 2008-01-15 10:07:49
way from your slippery slope argument to illustrate what I mean.

If they ban Guns, we will go to Bows and crossbows, if they ban those, they will go to knives and swords, ban those and you go to sticks and bats. Ban those and they will find a way to make a weapon. You see what I am saying?

The gun/knife/bat/stick is not the problem...the people using them are the problem. That is why the people who push gun safety get so worked up when people say the weapon is the issue. A gun, bow, crossbow, knife, bat etc does not kill a person...the person USING it does.

Talking about less weapons (taking it to the extreme to make the point), the biggest weapon a human has is their *BRAIN*. Humanity would find a way if they really wanted to hurt someone. Take a look at what Prison guards confiscate from the cells sometime and you will see sharpened plastic spoons, Paper mache' knife anyone, ball point pen... the problem is Humanity and their attitude IMO, not the weapon itself.
