doesn't necesserily mean that the rest of it falls apart too. Cultures change, after all. A thousand years ago in Norway, "everybody" would carry some sort of weapon, or at least be expectant to use them if needed. Britain's even still got a sleeping law that says that all men must practice shooting with their longbows a set amount of time each month!

Reducing the amount of firearms would all in all probably be a good thing.
