Laser printer question by Freakazoid 2008-01-15 06:32:13
This is on a HP Laserjet 2100TN
getting some odd vertical smudging (?) on the left and right edges of the paper, but only if stuff gets printed over on those sides. (like 1/2" from the edge or so)

toner cartridge/drum (all in one unit) has been replaced already and the problem persists. Anyone have any clue what it could be? I've already ran both cleaning modes it has to no effect.
Found a service manual for the laserjet 2100 series printers but it isn't helping much.

it almost looks like the toner's being smudged by some sort of roller as if there's text on the top part of the problem area but not lower on i'll get little smudges in regular intervals.
I think the service manual mentioned the transfer rollers but when I took the toner out (it's in the top, sorta near the output tray, there's a door for it) I couldn't see any rollers in the appropriate area.
